Sinta Wullur was born in Indonesia and has lived since her tenth year in the Netherlands. At the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam she began her music studies in classical piano with Willem Brons.

After her piano examinations her interest in the creation of music gained the upper-hand and she studied composition with Ton de Leeuw at the Sweelinck Conservatory. She continued her composition studies, which finished in 1991, with Theo Loevendie and Louis Andriessen at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. At both conservatories she also worked in the electronic studios under the direction of Gilius van Bergeijk and Jan Boerman.

Since 1983 she delved into various eastern music styles. In Amsterdam she studied Indian song and for a few months in the year she studied gamelan and song in Indonesia in Java and Bali.

Her compositions have been performed by diverse Dutch orchestras/ensembles at all standard podiums for new music and world music.

Outside of the Netherlands many of Sinta Wullur's compositions have been performed at international festivals. At international conferences such as the 'Pacific Composers Conference' and the 'Asia Pacific Festival' she was invited to give lectures. Many of the music performances have been broadcast over the radio both in Holland and outside the country.
